Looking for some lion themed crafts? You’ve come to the right place! We have two VERY easy lion crafts that can be done by kids of any age. You can use the finished crafts as puppets, animal art to be added to your paintings, or “toys” (my kiddo loved carrying these little guys around and roaring as loudly as possible)!
Cupcake Liner Lions
What You’ll Need:
- Large cupcake liners
- Small cupcake liners
- Googly eyes
- Small pom-poms
This activity is so simple that you will wonder why you didn’t think of it! All you have to do is glue the pretty side of your large cupcake liner to the pretty side of your small cupcake liner – in other words, right sides together. You’ll want to glue the small liner in the center of the large liner as it will become your lions’ face!
The next thing you’ll want to do is to glue your googly eyes and pom-pom nose to your lions white face (remember, that’s the backside of the small cupcake liner)! To finish off your lion be sure draw on a cute little mouth.
You should see that the larger cupcake makes up the lion’s mane – if you can find appropriate colors (such as orange and yellow) or a circular pattern like we found, your lion will be even better!
To get even craftier: glue a popsicle stick to the back, add a pipe cleaner tail, and you’ve got yourself a puppet!
Lion Bow Puppets
What You’ll Need:
- Gift bow
- Bottle Cap
- Hot Glue
- Googly Eyes
- Popsicle Stick
- Pipe Cleaner
Place a healthy amount of hot glue (I originally used white glue and found it didn’t work as well) on the inside of your bottle cap and stick it to the center of your gift bow.
Then attach some googly eyes, draw on a cute little smile, and hot glue a popsicle stick to the back of the bow! Once you’ve done that, wrap a gold pipe cleaner around your stick, leaving a long end for your lion’s tail!
How can something so simple be such a hit? My kiddo thought this was the best little puppet and used it as a toy with his other animal things.
